Job Description:
A Civilian Medical Practitioner (CMP) provides essential medical care to patients in a civilian capacity, often working in collaboration with the military, government organizations, or healthcare facilities. CMPs are responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of medical conditions, offering both preventive and therapeutic care to individuals. The role requires both clinical expertise and adherence to established healthcare protocols, ensuring the health and well-being of patients in a variety of settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide high-quality healthcare services to patients, including general medical assessments, diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Medical Consultations: Conduct consultations with patients, review medical histories, and provide appropriate recommendations and treatment options.
- Prescriptions: Write and manage prescriptions for medications, ensuring they are appropriate and tailored to the individual patient’s needs.
- Emergency Care: Respond to medical emergencies and offer urgent care when necessary, including first aid, stabilization, and referral to specialist care when required.
- Health Promotion: Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications to support their long-term health.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, confidential medical records for each patient, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
- Medical Referrals: Refer patients to specialists or additional healthcare services if required for further diagnosis or treatment.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Teams: Work alongside other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, specialists, and administrative staff, to ensure effective care delivery and follow-up.
- Clinical Examinations: Perform routine physical examinations, diagnostic testing, and screenings for early detection of diseases.
- Adherence to Protocols: Follow established medical guidelines, procedures, and protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
- Health Reports: Prepare and submit medical reports, patient histories, and other documentation as required by the healthcare facility or organization.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: A Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Medical License: Valid medical practice license issued by the relevant medical authority (e.g., PMC – Pakistan Medical Commission).
- Experience: Prior experience working as a medical practitioner in either a clinical or hospital setting is preferred.
- Knowledge: Sound knowledge of general medical practices, healthcare regulations, and patient care standards.
- Clinical Skills: Strong diagnostic, treatment, and procedural skills. Ability to handle medical emergencies with confidence.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately assess patients’ conditions and implement appropriate treatment plans.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for diagnosing health conditions and formulating effective treatment plans.
- Ethical Standards: High ethical standards in patient care and confidentiality.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills:
- Postgraduate qualification or specialization in a specific area of medicine (e.g., pediatrics, general surgery, etc.).
- Previous experience in a military or government healthcare environment (if applicable).
- Knowledge of military healthcare protocols and working in a multidisciplinary team.
